A complete shame since it is actually very well designed and quite capable once you learn your way around the application. Reading what was out there suggested it may not have been worth the effort to kick the tires.
Prior to using DesignSpark I had not seen much in the way of useful information on the web. Just a user that cannot see why I would ever pay for anything else or use anything else. No I do not work for nor never have worked for the RS. True RS would like you to order components from them and they make it easy to do so but you have absolutely no obligationĪ complete schematic capture, PCB design auto route, Gerber file creation package with other free applications to help. No comprehensive application such as this is so easy that you can just install and know everything about it but this is no harder than some I have tried and easier than others.ħ. Does just this so you can chose who you have fabricate your creation.ĥ. You can design within the package as well.Ĥ. You can then easily use the design in DesignSpark. If they are not there you can use a very easy to use wizard to design it yourself or request a part to be made. Has a native large parts library but you can also use another free application to search for other components. Absolutely no limits in size, number of components, pins. It is regularly updated and bugs fixed.Ģ. Not only that, it has been developed and supported by RS Components for a long time. This software is a spin off from a well established company.
